Matrixyl has hit the headlines within the UK, being described as a “New Wonder Product”
I always like to find the latest news items regarding anti-aging topics that I feel will be useful for people to be aware and this is no exception. here is a copy of this article that has today appeared in the prestigious newspaper within the UK – ‘The Daily Express’.
The article goes into detail regarding the peptide Matrixyl, which is one of the key ingredients that is used within Elite Serum, using the brand name of Matrixyl 3000. There are a number of matrixyl products that you can find in the marketplace, but for this article I am going to just concentrate on the ingredient matrixyl, or matrixyl 3000.
The University of Reading carried out extensive research on matrixyl and came to the conclusion ” proves this powerful ingredient does help to fight wrinkles”
Here is what the article actually states:
What Is Matrixyl And How Does It Work?
Matrixyl is part of the pentapeptide family. It is an amino acid that is small enough to penetrate through the outer layer of your skin to reach the fibroblast cells within and stimulate collagen production.
Collagen is a naturally occurring protein found in the skin that gives it elasticity and tone. As we age we make less of it which means that skin loses some of its tone and we develop wrinkles.
Researchers found that when Matrixyl at a concentration of 3% was applied to the face it stimulated the production of collagen from within the skin, doubling the amount produced.
While anti-aging creams containing peptides are not new, most brands havn’t been specific about which type of peptide their cream contains.
the good news for the consumer is that research might encourage brands to give more information about what their products contain.
If this happens, it will mean that using an anti-aging cream containing a specific ingredient such as Matrixyl at a high enough concentration should give clear results and be a powerful ally in the fight against skin aging.
Don’t expect instant results. The body takes at least two months to make new collagen so for best results use a product twice a day over this time period.
Why Not Just Use A Cream That Contains Collagen?
Studies have found that collagen molecules are too large to soak into the skin and can’t be absorbed. Therefore the collagen molecules just sit on the surface of the skin until they are rubbed off or washed away.
They help lock in moisture and make skin feel nice but won’t work miracles on wrinkles.
How Do I Know How Much Matrixyl Is In The Product?
Clinical trials showed that a concentration of three per cent Matrixyl used daily over three months produced the most dramatic results.
Unfortunately most skincare products don’t list the concentration of each active ingredient.
However if you examine the ingredients on packaging the nearer the top of the list an ingredient is, the higher the content. If it’s near the bottom the chances are it will just be a tiny amount.
Are Any Other Peptides Just As Effective?
Many other pentapeptides work, including myristoyl, a protein in the same family as matrixyl.
It also stimulates collagen production, penetrating through the outer layer of skin.
HSS StemCellution, containing myristoyl as well antioxidants and fruit stem cells, fights ageing skin.

Elite Serum Review – Does It Match The Bill?
One of the main active ingredients used within Elite Serum is that of Matrixyl 3000, which is their brand name for matrixyl. When carrying out Elite \serum reviews, they state that it actually contains two matrikines – Pal-GHK and Pal-GQPR which is stated to act in synergy to restore and maintain skin’s youthful appearance.
This is what they say about ‘matrikines’ and Matrixyl 3000:
“Matrikines are messengers of cutaneous restructuring and repair. They activate the neosynthesis of extracellular matrix macromecules, thus providing Matrixyl™3000 with a visible anti-wrinkle efficacy. As messenger molecules, these matrikines™ are capable of regulating cell activities. More specifically, they interact with specific receptors to trigger the stimulation of certain genes involved in the process of extracellular matrix renewal and cell proliferation.
With age these complex mechanisms become progressively weaker. As such, the supplemental use of an advanced restoration multi-peptide like Matrixyl™3000 becomes an essential part of the formula for maintaining smooth skin around the eyes. Accordingly, in extensive clinical testing undertaken by SeDerma, the application of a serum containing Matrixyl™3000 has been proven to reduce unwanted expression wrinkles by 45% in only 2 months, along major and significant improvements in elasticity and tone.”
